All applicants can register online by submitting a resume through
the Adecco-Hawaii web-site, or by visiting our office and using
a dedicated computer terminal, which allows one to identify their
skills, qualifications, work history and references.
All applicants at Adecco are interviewed thoroughly face-to-face.
The details provided through the basis of the interview, allows
the Adecco Consultant to draw up a complete profile of the applicant
and investigates his/her behavioral competencies in greater detail.
The Adecco Consultant will discuss the applicant's
work history and experience at length, particularly probing any
gaps in employment. The Adecco Consultant can also make notes if
the candidate has previously worked for the Client so that, for
example, the candidate can be vetted for leaving reasons prior to
being presented for assignment to Client.
We also have the facility to record the applicant's
comments on his/her work history, their likes and dislikes and also
the facility for the Adecco Consultant to note their own comments
on, for example, the appearance and attitude of the candidate. Information
such as the geographical mobility of the candidate (e.g. whether
car owner, or reliant on public transport) is also a standard question
that we ask.
Adecco will also check and photocopy the relevant documents for
the position (e.g. Driving License, Work Permit). If the Client
is intending to take the individual onto its own payroll, it is
necessary for the Client as the employer to satisfy itself that
the documentation is in order.
Adecco is dedicated to ensuring that we are embracing Diversity
through education, awareness and skills training to not only support
our own employees but to ensure that we are able to support and
educate our clients in providing human resource solutions.
We are continuously reviewing our own selection and development
procedures to ensure we are not insular in our decisions and find
ways of taking into consideration others differences.
We are also able to support our clients’ diversity policies
in both permanent and temporary staffing solutions and welcome the
opportunity to work closely to better understand our clients markets
and workforce.
Adecco is an equal opportunities employer. We have numerous policies
and procedures to ensure that we adhere to the law at all times.
With regard to the recruitment of temporary and permanent candidates
for our clients we ensure equality of opportunity through the following
methods:
• All applicants must complete registration
details, and as a part of the registration process they are asked
to specify their ethnic origin, but they are not obliged to do
so.
• Our system matches applicants to temporary and permanent
vacancies on the basis solely of their skills, experience, and
ability to do the job. An automated matching system removes much
of the subjective nature of the more traditional candidate management
systems.
These systems ensure that we select applicants only
on the basis of their skills, experience and qualifications required
to do the job in question, and their personality, to achieve the
right cultural fit between applicant and Client Company.
